Changing Table Categories and Data SetsThe Quick Tables, Geographic Comparison Tables, and Detailed Tables are separate categories within the Census data sets. If you want to retrieve multiple tables from the same category within a data set you can use the Tables breadcrumb in the You are here navigation bar near the top of the AFF page. However, if you want to select tables from a category different from the one you are currently displaying, e.g., a detailed table instead of a quick table, you will have to return to the Data Sets page (select the Data Sets breadcrumb in the You are here navigation bar near the top of the AFF page), select the appropriate data set, and list all tables. You will need to build your geographic areas for each category of tables that you use within the Census data set.
Selecting multiple tables from the same category within a data set:
- Go to the You are here navigation bar near the top of the AFF page and select the Tables breadcrumb.
- At this point AFF allows you to select multiple tables to add to your list of selections. To select multiple tables hold down the ctrl key on your keyboard as you locate and select the tables you have been assigned.
- When you are finished selecting all of the tables that you want to view, click on the Add button. The list of tables that you have selected will appear in the Current table selections box. You can remove any table from your list by selecting the table and clicking on the Remove button.
- When you are ready click on the Show Result button. You should retrieve the tables for all geographic areas already selected from this category of files.
Selecting tables from a different category than the one you are currently displaying:
- Go to the You are here navigation bar near the top of the AFF page and select the All Data Sets breadcrumb.
- Select the data set needed and select List all tables.
- Select a table from the list. You cannot select multiple tables from the Data Sets-List all tables screen. Select the Next button.
- If this is the first time you have selected a table from this category of files, e.g., Quick Tables, Geographic Comparison Tables, Detailed Tables, you will have to select your geographic regions again.
- After you have shown one table, select the Tables breadcrumb from the You are here navigation bar near the top of the AFF page.
