Information Environments

The Information Environments at Helmke Library are virtual and physical collections of specialized information, contacts, and search strategies organized to guide students, scholars, and visitors to the most useful resources suited to a particular purpose. Designed by information professionals and routinely reviewed and updated, each center has its own unique organization and content.
The Business Resource Center is designed to help you find authoritative and useful business information on the Web and in the library. Included is references to books, databases, periodical articles, government information, Internet sites, major reference books, core journals for each field, and links to professional organizations.
The Electronic Atlas of Northeast Indiana is a project of IPFW's Helmke Library designed to provide easy access to authoritative data, both current and retrospective, about the twelve counties of northeast Indiana. Also, where possible, it offers data that can be downloaded, manipulated, and mapped to facilitate decision-making.
IPFW university archives collection was officially established in 1982 to collect material related to the history of the IPFW campus including the people, events, buildings and publications that compile that history.
The Public Information Reference Service provides information by and about local, state, federal, and foreign national governments as well as international government organizations. Sources available from this site include FedStats, the gateway to statistics from over 100 U.S. Federal agencies, the U.S. Government Printing Office's GPO Access, the Library of Congress, and the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Science Information Center offers in-depth reference collections, a wealth of electronic databases, subject pathfinders, and other useful guides to aid in scientific research. Professional staff is also available on a walk-in or by-appointment basis to assist in locating authoritative health, scientific, and technical information.
